Getting hours of enjoyment with these two PC strategy games

Stronghold 1

Stronghold is a real-time strategy game (RTS) developed by Firefly Studios in 2001 and is also the opening game for the Stronghold series. The game focuses primarily on conquests and expansion through military pursuits, besides providing space for strategy and economic development.

In Stronghold, players will play the role of a lord in the kingdom. The goal is to create a stable economy and military power to protect against invaders, destroy enemy’s castle and carry out missions.

Due to the strong success of Stronghold, the sequels of this series were released including: Stronghold: Crusader, Stronghold 2, Stronghold Legends, Stronghold Crusader: Extreme, Stronghold 3 and Stronghold Crusader II. But so far, no part has been able to overcome the too big shadow of Stronghold 1.

Red alert 2

Red Alert 2 has two playable sides: Soviet and Allied, which has appeared in Command & Conquer: Red Alert. The single-player campaign of Red Alert 2 is structured in which the Soviet end contrasts with the main story taking place during the Allied campaign. The game includes many real locations, including the World Trade Center, the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.

Its expansion pack, Command & Conquer: Yuri’s Revenge, is released with a new mission system as well as troops new strains, constructions and countries.

Like other Command & Conquer games, the two sides in Red Alert 2 have their own weaknesses and strengths. To achieve victory, players must promote their strengths and exploit the opponent’s weaknesses.

Every aspect of Red Alert is based on collecting money. In the game, money can be collected in many ways. The most common is to use a Miner car to collect gold or gems and transport them to a refinery. Players can also gain ample amount of money by capturing Tech Derricks (neutral structures appear in some maps).
